Mid Atlantic Area Directors Message
Greetings from Our Director
Hello from South Carolina! My name is Jill Averyhart, CEOE, and I am excited to serve as your Mid-Atlantic Area Director. I currently work in Richland School District Two in Columbia, South Carolina, as the executive assistant for two amazing Assistant Superintendents for Schools. I enjoy serving on the NAEOP Board, and get tremendous support from my two administrators. I recently attended the 2015 NAEOP onference in Buffalo, New York, and participated in numerous sessions, briefings, and meetings, and kept track of everything using the NAEOP conference Mobile App. Did you know that NAEOP recently launched the NAEOP Mobile Organization App? Check it out and download it today!
I also serve as the Long Range Planning Committee Chairman. NAEOP President Stelmach understands there is a need for a clearly defined direction that will position NAEOP for long-term success. She has requested the Long Range Planning Committee look at strategic planning to help the association meet important goals and objectives regarding membership. Association membership numbers are declining, and fewer people are attending conferences. Mid-Atlantic Area membership numbers alone have decreased from 649 to 567 this past year. Through brainstorming, the committee will find solutions that will make a difference. We all need to ask ourselves the following four questions:
Where are we now?
Where do we want to be?
What do we do to get there?
How do we monitor our progress?
If you would like to provide input or answers to these four questions, please contact me.
Remember, we are all responsible for the success of our local, state and national organizations. I encourage each of you to attend the Mid-Atlantic Area Professional Development Days in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, November 12-13, 2015. The registration form and schedule are available on our Mid-Atlantic Area website. Please register early so you won’t miss out on this great professional development opportunity. I look forward to seeing you in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Jill Averyhart, CEOE
2015-2017 Mid-Atlantic Area Director
